Ruth Bledsoe
Ruth B. Borders Bledsoe (Ruthie) 84, of Linton passed away at 6:52 p.m. Friday, January 13 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
She was born in Dugger Oct. 12, 1932, the daughter of Glean (Possum) Borders and Alta Comstock Borders.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Loren, Gaylen, Max and Gerald (Bud) Borders; and two sisters, Rosemary Welsh and Dorcas Lewellyn.
Ruth was a telephone operator in Dugger for Bell telephone, she worked for Frank Miller Photography for approximately 10 years, a member of the Alpha Chapter of Triad in Linton. She was also a Brownie Scout and Girl Scout Leader, Church camp counselor and an excellent homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dugger.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jack Bledsoe, whom she married on Feb. 16, 1957; two daughters, Beth Sutphin (Dave) of Terre Haute, and Lori Chambers (Marty) of Dugger; two grandchildren, McKinley Robertson (Scott) and Neil Chambers (Kensi); six great-grandkids, Austin, Devyn, Layten, Carter, Rhylan and Charley; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the First Christian Church in Dugger with Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow in the Dugger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger.
