Local Gymnasts to attend USAG State

Odon Gymnastics Academy Competitive Team

Members of the Odon Gymnastics Academy Competitive Team recently qualified to attend the USAG Indiana State Competitions. Gymnasts must receive qualifying scores at two sanctioned meets to attend the State meet. Qualifying team members include Abigail Giesler (13), Brianna Greene (12), Adison Giesler (11), Brayln Perry (11), Adalyn Smith (7), Angela Yoder (9), Haddie McDannald (9), and Olivia Tarr (10). Abigail Giesler of North Daviess qualified as a Level 7 Optional. Her State competition will be held in Terre Haute the third weekend of March. This is Abigail’s third year as a competitor and her third State competition. Adison Giesler of North Daviess and Brayln Perry of Linton both qualified for Xcel State as Xcel Silvers. Their competition will be held the last weekend of March in Lafayette. They will be joined by their teammates, Brianna Greene of Loogootee as an Xcel Gold, Adalyn Smith and Haddie McDannald of Washington as Xcel Bronze, Angela Yoder of Odon and Olivia Tarr of Shoals, both also Xcel Bronze. The team members practice 3 days a week and travel throughout the State for competitions beginning in October and ending in May. The Odon Team is coached by Kim Zuckschwerdt of Bloomfield and assisted by Kami Giesler of Bloomfield and Hiedi Sargent of Newberry. Good luck to the gymnasts!
