Mom prom most successful yet
To the Editor:
The 7th annual Mom Prom was held Aug. 26, 2017 in Heshey Hall, at the Greene County Event Center. It was the most successful year yet.
There were 113 ladies in attendance and the ladies enjoyed an evening of dining, dancing, prom pictures and the crowning of the 2017 Mom Prom Queen. This year’s queen was Kim Powers, one of our new SANE nurses.
The silent auction had several great items up for bid and between that, the ticket sales and donations, the Greene County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) raised over $5,000. If anyone would still like to make donation, please feel free to send a check made payable to the Greene County Foundation/Mom Prom.
As you know, the event is held each year to raise not only funds but the awareness of sexual assault in our small community and what services are available for victims, both male and female, in Greene County. With the funds raised, the SART has been able to send 6 registered nurses from Greene County General Hospital to training to become SANE’s (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners), pay for continued training that they need and purchase several items needed by the nurses to perform forensic examinations.
The Greene County Sexual Assault Response Teams wants to thank everyone who made this night possible:
