Theta Gamma Alpha Alum donate to Project Lifesaver

Hostesses Sharon Frederick and Deb Cullison welcomed members of Theta Gamma Alpha Alumnae to the Dec. 1, 2018 Christmas breakfast.

Hostesses Susan Isenogle and Barbara Myers were unable to attend. The breakfast was held in the Presbyterian Church at 9 a.m. Following prayer by Sharon Frederick, 11 members enjoyed a delicious breakfast catered by the Lighthouse Lunchbox.

The tables were decorated in the Christmas theme and the favors were a small Christmas stocking with candy inside. President Carol Carney opened the business meeting and thanked the hostesses for the nice meeting and said, “Merry Christmas everyone”.

Deb Cullison reported for the Social and Welfare Committee on cards sent. The publicity chair reported that she had sent Bettie Lemons memorial to the Grit Spring Issue. A thank you from the family of Bettie Lemons has been received.

A sympathy letter from the National Vice-President, Bonnie Wells was read. She stated that the National Officers will make a donation to Grit in Bettie’s name. The president read two other letters of sympathy from XI Phi Chapter and Zeta Upsilon Chapter both of Illinois.

Marilyn Dallaire said that her husband thanked members for the donation for the Project Lifesaver.

Hostesses for the April meeting are Anne Ellis and Linda Halliburton. The telephone committee will call with time and place of the meeting.

Sharon Frederick led members in a game called “Christmas Trivia”, everyone receeved a prize of a large candy cane. The raffle of a decorated red candle was won by Dorothy Small and the door prizes of Hurricane Candles were won by Anne Ellis and Jean Resler. Sharon gave a reading, “The Spirit of Christmas” as retold by Marilyn McAuley. She closed by reading a “Christmas Prayer” taken from “Christmas Stories for the Heart” compiled by Alice Gray.
