REMC: Almost all power restored after Saturday tornado

Tuesday, June 18, 2019

Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC announced crews have completed restoration to the Lawrence Hollow area, bringing the total number of members without power to 23.

Ten of those had crews working on them Monday night, and the rest have either been contacted to make repairs on their side or will be restored Wednesday.

"Because of the dedication from our crews, that area has almost all been restored after our crews were told it would take a WEEK to get to everyone. We are so proud of our team and the hours they put in to serve our members these past few days," REMC reported.

"And huge thank you to the crews from Harrison REMC, Dubois REC and Parke County REMC who came to our area to help us after the storm! Amazing job by their crews."

Crews will be back out Tuesday, cleaning up more damage. Expect clean up to take into next week.
