FREE ACCESS: GCSD seeking information about Saturday accident

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is seeking information about a Saturday night accident that left several injured.

According to a press release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the accident took place at 8:34 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of State Road 45 and State Road 445 in Center Township.

The report from investigating officer Deputy Camron Frye states the two-vehicle accident included a 2014 Toyota Highlander SUV operated by 43-year-old Lesley Sipes and a 2008 Dodge Avenger operated by 22-year-old Kyla Addison.

Sipes was reportedly traveling south on State Road 45 through the intersection and, at the same time, Addison was traveling north on State Road 445 through the intersection when the accident occurred.

Sipes was transported to IU Health Bloomington by family for treatment for a complaint of rib and arm pain. The passengers in Sipes’ car complained of chest and head pain, and ankle pain.

Addison was transported by Greene County Ambulance to IU Health Bloomington with a complaint of chest pain. Her passenger was also transported by Greene County Ambulance to IU Health Bloomington for a complaint of severe left hip pain.

The accident is still under investigation.

“Anybody who witnessed or has information regarding this accident is encouraged to contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department at 812-384-4411,” the press release states.

Assisting at the scene were Center Township Fire Department, Greene County Ambulance Service and IU Health Bloomington Hospital Ambulance.
