Hazardous weather outlook for Greene County this weekend

This hazardous weather outlook is for central Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Friday.

Outlook: Lowland flooding will continue along the Wabash River. Light accumulating snow mixing with freezing rain this evening.

Hazards: River flooding affecting agricultural lands and local river roads. Light snow this evening becoming mixed with freezing rain late this evening through early Saturday.

Timing: Flooding continuing into next week. Light snow beginning after 4 p.m. this afternoon, mixing with freezing rain after 9 p.m., becoming all rain by daybreak Saturday.

Discussion: Lowland flooding will continue into next week. Light snow will begin late this afternoon across southwest Indiana, spreading north and east early this evening. As temperatures begin to

warm, freezing rain will mix with snow late tonight and continue until daybreak Saturday.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Outlook: Moderate river flooding will continue into next week over lower parts of the White and Wabash Rivers. Rain early this weekend could prolong flooding. Snow and a wintry mix are possible this evening into Saturday, with minor snow and very light ice accumulations possible across central and northern parts of the area.

Discussion: A strong frontal system will move through the Great Lakes this weekend bringing gusty winds Saturday both ahead of and behind the cold front. Colder air will arrive in the wake of the frontal

passage Saturday night.
