To the Editor:

Solsberry Christian Church wishes to express appreciation and thanks to all who prayed and supported Tom Cooperider and his family during his recent illness and unfortunate passing. The SCC staff and many volunteers worked tirelessly to keep lines of communication open and the regular functions of the church operating. Many persons delivered food to the Cooperider home and to the church for the time of visitation and the meal following the funeral. Much thanks is owed to all who assisted with the organization, set up, preparation, and clean up.

Sincere appreciation is expressed to those churches throughout our community who prayed and assisted in any manner during these trying times. Kurtis Moffitt delivered a wonderful message from God’s Word and, indeed, from his own heart the Sunday following Tom’s passing. Cincinnati Christian Church graciously opened its kitchen facility for use when a power outage affected much of the area the day of the funeral. Brad Beard and the staff of Jenkins Funeral Home willingly assisted with the publication of the obituary and loaned flower stands for use during the visitation time and the funeral service. The timely and heartfelt messages displayed on the message boards of several churches throughout the area were reminders to all who saw them that we live in a community that cares for each other.

Tom Cooperider was best described as having “a true pastor’s heart.” He would have been most pleased by the manner in which the entire community came together during this most trying time. Thank you all who helped in any way, and, especially those who prayed. We ask in faith that you continue your fervent, strengthening prayers.

Thank you,
