Stonewall Democrats of South-Central Indiana (SD-SCI) have announced endorsements of candidates running in Indiana’s primary election, currently scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

SD-SCI works to increase LGBTQ+ representation in local and state offices and advocates for legal protections of LGBTQ+ hoosiers at the local and state level.

SD-SCI membership includes LGBTQ+ hoosiers and allies from Monroe, Brown, Owen, Greene, Morgan, Lawrence and Bartholomew counties. Democratic candidates in both contested and uncontested primary races were invited to apply for endorsement.

The endorsed candidates are:

Cinde Wirth - State House District 59

Alyssa Bailey - State House District 62

Paula Staley - State House District 65

Cheryl Munson - Monroe County Council At Large

Trent Deckard - Monroe County Council At Large

Geoff McKim - Monroe County Council At Large

Alphonso (Al) Manns, Judge of the Circuit Monroe County Circuit Court, Division 1, Seat 9

Kara Krothe, Judge of the Monroe County Circuit Court, Division 8, Seat 5

In the Indiana State Senate District 40 race, SD-SCI chose to endorse both Shelli Yoder and John Zody, since both are such strong allies for the LGBTQ+ and presented equally strong applications for endorsement.
