Glenburn Home and other long-term care facilities through-out the State of Indiana are in the midst of a war unlike any we have dealt with before. The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have established guidelines for privacy, patient care, employee safety, testing and efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19. As those organizations learn more about this virus, they continually update those guidelines. Further, we are bound by our own ethics, as well as federal law under the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), to protect the privacy of our residents and employees.

ISDH and CMS provide the playbook that we follow in combating COVID-19. We have and will continue to adhere to their guidance. We are reporting daily information, as required, to the ISDH. We provide daily and weekly updates directly to our resident’s family members or representatives. We contact family members or representatives of our residents as the condition of their loved ones and their associated plans of care change.

We are communicating this so that you are aware that the family members or representatives of our residents do in fact receive “more than a daily Facebook post from Glenburn”.

Our mission and responsibilities at Glenburn have never been more clear. We will continue to fight as hard as we can in caring for our residents and employees until this passes. We cannot thank our employees enough for the commitment and fortitude they display each and every day during this fight.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the community of Linton, Greene County, our partner Greene County General Hospital and other friends of Glenburn for the outpouring of prayers, love and physical support you are providing. Your contributions of food, supplies, PPE and other forms of donations have been and will continue to be critical to the care and morale of our residents and our outstanding team.

Thank you and God bless
