Local candidate voices criticism for current commisioners

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

Tuesday night, County Commissioner Nathan Abrams announced that Greene County is ranked 11th in the state in receiving grant monies for roads. He emphasized the need for him and Ed Michael to be reelected, for that and many other accomplishments. I commend the actions to bring the road funding to Greene County. My questions though, are: How was the money used? What/Whose roads were built, upgraded? Is there a priority system with fairness in place for determining projects? What efforts are taken for transparency and public input?

Drive around Greene County and you will find some, in my opinion, third-world-like roads and lack of internet/cellular connectivity. I believe we can do better. The completion of I-69 presents many opportunities and challenges for Greene County to advance economic development.

I would love to see “MADE IN GREENE COUNTY” labels on new products.

With 35 years of government experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental agencies and get things done. As a minister/pastor of over 30 years I have compassion to meet the needs of people. Together, experience and integrity are key to improvement. I believe I'm the right candidate to bring our community safely into the future.

I have resided in Solsberry for 37 years, my wife Stephanie longer, and she graduated from Eastern Greene High School. Our children and grandchildren also attended Eastern Greene schools. For more information on my candidacy, go to tar4greene.com.

Thanks,

Thomas Anthony Rhodes Candidate for County Commissioner District 1
