County Council discusses bond refinancing, projected to save county $1.1 million

The Greene County Council met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. in the courthouse. During the meeting, the board discussed the possible refinancing of three bonds. According to Nathan Abrams, two of those bonds are held by the Building Corporation and one is with the Redevelopment Commission. Abrams explained to the board that financial advisors have advised the county to refinance the bonds due to currently low interest rates. The refinancing is estimated to provide the county a net savings of about $1.1 million in interest.
