Bloomfield school board holds last meeting of 2020
The Bloomfield board of school trustees met in regular session on Dec. 17. During the meeting, students of the month Titus Lehman (November) and Trenton Dean were recognized.
The board approved the following:
-21st CCLC high school after school teacher Chastity Woods, 1st CCLC substitute for before/after school program Tabitha Burton, CCLC substitute for before/after school program Lexi Graves, varsity and junior varsity cheer coach Lori Beth Kelley, volunteer assistant junior high boys basketball coach AJ Sipes, Redliner Sponsor Sammie Sparks, and volunteer assistant varsity boys basketball coach Turner Royal. ECA hires include Bianca Tolbert for Booster Club and Kyle von Almen for intramural basketball.
-The resignations of DECA sponsor Nicole Fougerousse and cafeteria financial manager Beth Plummer were approved, as well as an anonymous donation in the amount of $100.00.
-A motion to pay building level administrators the same stipend amount that teachers receive from the Teacher Appreciation Grant (TAG). Highly effective teachers get $529.23 and $396.92 for effective teachers.
-The adoption of BSD core values statement which reads as follows: We believe....
all students have the ability to learn, are important, and have unique skills to contribute successfully to our world.
in a valued, highly-qualified, team-oriented staff that cares for, supports, and teaches every student to their full potential every day.
that support and teamwork among our school district, families, and the community provide the most effective learning outcomes in and out of the classroom.
in relevant, inclusive, and engaging curriculum that appropriately prepares students for their life endeavors.
in instruction that is student-centered, effective, creative, engaging, and that teaches more than academic content.
in assessments that are authentic, meaningful, appropriate, and helpful in guiding students’ futures in whatever vocation they choose.
in technology that enhances learning, enables education in varying environments, and prepares students for current and future technological advancements.
facilities should provide a safe, clean, and effective learning environment.
in proper stewardship of resources that support the sustainability, security, and effectiveness of our school district.
