Miners add to win streak, blast Wildcats
Tuesday’s game at South Vermilion was scheduled on the fly last week but the short prep time did not hinder Linton-Stockton as the Miners won 72-51. The win moves Linton to 23 straight wins, well over the longest streak in school history.
The Miners only led 20-18 after the opening quarter but controlled the second 22-7 to lead 42-25 into the locker room.
Future Indiana State Sycamore Lincoln Hale had 25 points with three makes from beyond the arc.
Joey Hart 17 points on 7-11 shooting. Logan Webb and Drew Smith were nearly in double-figures with eight points each. Freshman Braden Walters had seven as seniors Josh Pyne had four and Trey Goodman scored three.
The Miner offense was clicking as they shot 57 percent for the night and 38 percent from three.
It was only the fourth game of the season for South Vermillion as it falls to 1-3 on a three-game skid. Linton improves to 7-0 and now prepares for the Wabash Valley Classic. The Miners will take on Greencastle Saturday at 6 p.m.
