Two cars collided near Jasonville at 9236 State Road 59, in front of Blessed Hope Baptist Church on Thursday at about 3 p.m.

According to a witness, both drivers were headed northbound on the highway. When the car in front slowed to turn into the church’s parking lot, the trailing car failed to slow down, clipping the backend of the turning car. As a result, the turning vehicle spun around, landing southbound in a ditch near the church. The driver of that vehicle was transported to Greene County General Hospital.

Airbags deployed on both cars. The driver side door of the car in the ditch had to be removed in order to free the driver.

Responding to the scene were Wright Township Fire Department, Jasonville Fire Department, Linton Fire Department, Jasonville Police Department, and Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
