The bravest deer in Bloomfield steals a kiss.
Submitted photo

Sunday of Memorial Day weekend was a beautiful day in Bloomfield. The temperature was perfect for doing chores in the yard. My wife and I had just finished our Sunday routine when we were surprised by a young visitor.

It was approximately three to four feet tall and light brown with a white tail.

We both stopped speaking because we didn’t want to scare our guest away. Kneeling down, we took pictures and video with our phones. To our surprise, the young deer began to approach us. Our youngest daughter joined us, and after a few minutes she was able to get the deer to approach her and eat from her hand.

At that point we were all blown away by how much it was interacting with us.

Sabrina, my wife, knelt back down to get some foliage for the deer when it approached her and began “kissing" her or licking her, depending on how my daughter would describe it.

Had it not been for me video taping it with my phone, I do not think anyone would have ever believed our story. I call him "the bravest deer in Bloomfield," because not only was he very comfortable around us, but he kissed my wife in front of me. LOL.
