Sheila Kaye Workman

Sheila Kaye Workman, 80, of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born March 13, 1942 in Sullivan, she was the daughter of Gerald and Mary (Whitman) Zaayer.

She worked in the Greene County Courthouse as recorder. She was also Center Township Trustee where she grew close to the firefighters. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. She was an avid Indiana University basketball fan. She enjoyed spending time with and watching her grandchildren in their school activities.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Lisa Strange (Dennis), Denise Frederick (Mark) and Jana Smith (Robert); one son, Robert Workman (Amanda); her grandchildren, Seth Strange (Emily), Joshua Strange (Stephanie Michael), Jordan Strange (Amanda), Matt Winn (Marla), Jonathan Winn, Darian Workman and Lance Workman; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Hazel, Harlyn, Emma, Avery, Cecilia and Royce; one sister, Vikki Yoho; one brother, Brad Zaayer (Helen); and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Workman on October 7, 1993; one granddaughter, Britnee Smith; an infant sister, Anita Carol; and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jeff Rockey and Rev. Erin Raper officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Bloomfield Athletic Department or the Eastern Greene Elementary Athletic Department.
