Donald Edward Harris, CWO4, USN (retired)

Donald Edward Harris, CWO4, USN (retired), age 90, of Milton, Fla., entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 22, 2023 after illness.

Born April 7, 1933, at his country home near Worthington. He graduated Worthington-Jefferson High School in 1951, married his high school sweetheart and proudly served his country for over 30 years of active military service, retiring as Assistant Supply Officer NAS Whiting Field in 1982. He served as Logistics Manager for the Navy TH-57 Training Helicopter an additional 18 years, retiring in 2000, then provided Logistics Technical Writing services for Sikorsky Helicopters until full retirement in 2006 at age 73.

Don was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church as Trustee, Deacon and Music Minister.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rex Harris; mother, Anna Lucretia (Ide) Harris; and brother, Fred Harris.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Norma; two daughters, Marilyn Kay (Bob) Dibble and Carolyn (Dennis) Brown; two granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Olivet Baptist Church, 5240 Dogwood Drive, Milton, Fla. with visitation from 1-2 p.m. and services at 2 p.m.. Interment will immediately follow the service at Serenity Gardens with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Olivet Baptist Joash or Benevolence Funds, designated for the needs of the church and community at Olivet Baptist Church, 5240 Dogwood Drive, Milton FL 32570.
