Jerry L. Haseman, 85, of Jasonville passed away at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in his home.

He was born December 19, 1937 in Jasonville to Granville Harold Haseman and Edna Pearl (Riggle) Haseman.

Jerry married Myrna Jo Gillespie on December 19, 1976, she passed away on February 22, 2014.

Survivors include his children, Paul Haseman of Indianapolis, Jerri Lynn Burton (Kevin) of Bedford, Whitney Lemieux (Allen) of Paragon, James Fox (Susan) of New York City, NY and Tedd Fox (Vivian) of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Madison Fox, Sydney Fox, Maya Fox, Ashley Merchant. Lacey Sacawa (Chris), Meredith Haseman Edquid (Francis) and Brenann Lemieux; one great-grandchild; siblings, Thelma Cooprider of Bloomington, William Haseman of Jasonville and Roy Haseman (Judy) of Newport Richie, Fla.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Leslie Fox Montgomery; siblings, Wilma Sampson, Dorothy Goodwin, Catherine Griffith, Fred Haseman and John Haseman.

Jerry graduated from Jasonville High School. He worked for U.S. Steel, Milwaukee Railroad, E.J. & E. Railroad and was plant manager for Extruded Alloys. He worked as a brakeman supervisor and railroading supervisor. Jerry enjoyed playing golf, cards, mushroom hunting, fishing and traveling.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street in Jasonville. Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 8 p.m. with Pastor Bob Sampson officiating. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, cremation will follow with burial at a later date.

Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jerry to Ainslee Herstein for her Medical School fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
