Larry Bosell
Larry Bosell, age 81, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Lyons on September 9, 1942, the son of Eva (Gallegos) Cockerham.
He was a graduate of Worthington Jefferson High School. He was a proud firefighter for his whole life and retired twice from that career. He was a fire chief in Richmond, Ind. and Jackson, Mich.. He served as State Fire Marshal in Indiana, South Carolina and Oregon. After retirement he settled in Bloomfield, where he became the owner of Bloomtone tanning salon there.
Larry is survived by his children, Tracy “TL” Bosell of Richmond, Casey J. Bosell of Calif. and Kim Bosell of Calif.; grandchildren, Andrew Wilmot, Natalie Romero, Eva Bosell, Kinsey Bosell, Kelsey Bosell, Kip Romero, Sydney Bosell, Amy Bosell and Megan Wawsczk; great-grandson, Oliver Bosell; sisters, Nina Hinchman of Worthington and Bonnie (Jerry) Newkirk of Tenn. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; stepfather, Bill Cockerham; son, Kip Bosell and brothers, Kenneth Bosell, Henry Bosell and Alvin Bosell.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 with Pastor Jay Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
