GCSO provides update on accident at Scheid’s Diesel Extravaganza

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on Monday regarding an off-track accident that occurred on Friday, August 23 during the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza at Wagler Motorsports Park in Lyons.

On Friday, a 2007 Jeep Wrangler driven by Jolanda Hargett, 55, of Tennessee, drove into a tent at the event located off track, injuring three people, who were taken by ambulance and helicopter to area hospitals.

The injured persons are:

• Marlin Zimmerman, 31, of Pennsylvania

• Jared Weaver, 33, of Ohio

• Joey Rank, 30, of Tennessee.

At this time, the accident remains under investigation.
