WIP
I have another confession to make. I have no less than three projects going at any one time. The WIP is in control. Work in progress, that is.
Currently, it’s a set of drawers I am restoring (and have been working on for over a month), crochet dishcloths, a crochet Christmas blanket, and holiday decor.
You may be thinking that’s not that many projects. But when you have them strung about your house, it’s a fair bit.
The drawers seemed like a fantastic idea at first. I needed something as a side table and the $10 paid seemed like an absolute steal. Then I saw how many paint layers there were. Thankfully, I made it to the point of sanding. Now it’s just a matter of dealing with the fine details before painting. Maybe I’ll have my side table someday. Eventually.
The crochet dishcloths are always in progress because let’s be honest, you can never have enough around. They’re good gifts, easy and fairly quick to make, and nice homemade touches.
The blanket, thank God, is made just from squares. I don’t have this massive sheet of yarn taking up space, but I do have red, green, and white squares taking up residence all over. Anyone who is a crafter knows that struggle.
As for holiday decorations, I’m a sucker for good decorations. But this year, I’m on a budget, so I cannot wait to get thrifty for some good decor.
Between yarn, paint, needles of all sizes, my flat surfaces are usually covered. But I would take the mess of a fun and productive project any day because sometimes you just need a bit of creativity in life.
So, make the mess. Start the project. Get WIPped.
