It was an amazing show of artistic creativity and plenty of heat at Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum, near Solsberry, on Saturday. Sculpture Trials hosted an International Cast Iron Sculpture Exhibition Saturday during a 12-hour open house event. The new gallery features 20 new works created during the 2012 Cast Iron Sculpture Workshop. Participating artists came from all over the United States and the United Kingdom. With the addition, the number of sculptures has expanded to more than 100 situations through a wooded and landscape trail at the site. In addition, a piece crafted by internationally known sculpture artist John Henry, of Chattanooga, TN, went on display for the first time, according to Gerry Masse, founder of the museum. Henry was described by Masse as one of the best known sculpture artist in the world. The evening was topped off with about two hours of live pours from the large blast furnace that heated the cast iron to more than 3,500 degrees to make the pours into molds.
