As a note, I want to thank the couple who gave a damp photographer shelter from the rain. You're the best.

For the boys under 50 lbs. category, Ashton Ryan (pictured) placed first in his division by pulling 63 lbs.

Ten critters competed in the Apple Festival's Pet Parade, which took place in the stage area 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 7--and all pets were winners. Solitary kitty Pearl, four years old, won the title of "Fuzziest Cat" with her long gray fur, which she uses to cuddle human McKenzie Scott.

Pearl was not the only representative of her breed. Local chicken Molly, presented by Zaydin and Jaybin Graf, was a shoo-in for "Most Unique".

Echo (8) and Brodie Myers won "Fuzziest" while Sophie Corlett and Jack (6) won for "Shortest" dog. "Woof," said Echo of his unprecedented win--but Jack contradicted him by remarking "woof."
