Eden Elise Evans is Greene County's first born baby of the 2008. She was born to Aaron Evans and Heather Van Horn on Jan. 5 at 4:17 p.m. at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Virgil Wallace Bryan, 83, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at his residence in Globe, Arizona. He was born in Linton on Aug.19, 1924, the son of Virgil and Eliza (Dennis) Bryan. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. An ordained minister, he was a graduate of Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, TN. He retired from Arizona State University.

Finch files plea agreement in 'baby in trunk' case

April K. Finch, of Jasonville, has agreed to plead guilty but mentally ill to two charges in connection with the case of her placing her baby in the trunk of a car last year. In a negotiated plea agreement filed Tuesday morning during a pre-trial hearing in Greene Circuit Court, the state agreed to dismiss the charge of neglect of a dependent and Finch agreed to plead guilty but mentally ill to criminal confinement -- a class C felony, and false informing -- a class A misdemeanor.
