JASONVILLE -- Some people in the Shakamak community may have questioned the decision of Jessi Gilbert to give up her senior season of basketball. Lee Allen, 91, of Lyons, passed away at 3:54 p.m. on Wednesday May 6, 2009 at the Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Born Dec. 11, 1917 in Lyons, he was the son of Roy Lee Allen and Millard Fillmore(Weddle) Allen. Lee was a farmer and was retired from the Iron Workers Local Union, was a volunteer fireman in Lyon and was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union in Lafayette...

Thelma Pearl Green, 84, Worthington, passed away 7:59 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Garden Villa in Bloomington. She was born Oct. 7, 1924 in Greene County to Leonard and Gladys (Hill) Green. She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church. Only two states in the nation have any kind of law regulating airbrush tanning in studios, salons, hotels or private residences. Indiana is not one of them. Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris visited the Sandborn Town Council on Tuesday evening to update the council and citizens of Sandborn on police patrol. The Greene County Clovers traveling 14U girls fastpitch softball team won six of seven games last weekend to capture the championship of the Brownsburg JAM USSSA. With the six wins the team is now 9-4 through two tournaments on the season. Stephanie Fougerousse pitched a perfect game as Linton-Stockton defeated host Eastern Greene 14-0 in a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference softball game Thursday.
