Janice Elaine Corbin, 62, of Solsberry, passed away 8:03 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Bloomington Hospital. Born January 20, 1947 in Solsberry, she was the daughter of Gilbert and Odessa (Cox) Corbin. She was employed at Westinghouse, Cook, Inc., and the Hospitality House in Bloomington. She was a member of the Solsberry Methodist Church and for the last several years spent much of her time caring for her mother...

The trial of a convicted child molester, James Leslie Alsman, also known as Jimmy Alsman, was scheduled to start on Thursday but it didn't. The case was dismissed. Alsman had been charged, again, with child molesting. The Greene County Prosecutor's Office filed the motion to dismiss after the court ruled the victim in the current case, a male child who was only 4-years-old, did not understand the nature and obligation of an oath and should not testify...
