UPDATED: WRV drops in overtime to Eminence in 1A sectional final
(High School Sports ~ 03/05/11)
SWITZ CITY -- Eminence emerged the victor in the Switz City Class 1A Sectional Saturday night, topping host White River Valley 40-35 in overtime. For WRV Coach J.B. Neill the outcome boiled down to his team missing out on a variety of opportunities in a down tempo-game that should have helped the Wolverine's chance to pull out a win. "We didn't help our own cause," Neill said outside the Wolverines locker room, citing turnover and missed free throws. "The bottom line is we had the tempo and we had everything in our favor. I told them (the team) before the game if we could get in the 30s we'd have a real good chance. We did. It just missed opportunities. The kids just didn't make plays when they had chances."
