Linton Mayor Patti Jones announced Tuesday morning that the East Shelterhouse in Humphreys Park will open immediately during the day time hours as a refuge for residents seeking relief from the excessive heat and humidity. Mayor Jones said the air conditioned building will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day through July 26, if the current heat wave continues. "This will get them (the residents) though the hottest part of the day," Jones added.
