Update: At 2:52 p.m., the Linton Police Department issued message alerting residents that there were power outages and debris on the roadways from the storm. Motorist were urged to use caution. Original Story: The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northern Daviess County and eastern Greene County in southwest Indiana until 3:15 pm EDT. At 2:32 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 10 miles east of Bloomfield to 13 miles north of Shoals to 5 miles northwest of Shoals to 9 miles northeast of Washington and moving southeast at 40 mph. UPDATED: Flash Flood Warning issued by the National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis issued a Flash Flood Warning for Greene and surrounding counties effective through this morning, but more rain could extend the warning period. Heavy overnight storms Tuesday night and Wednesday prompted the NWS alert that was issued Wednesday afternoon. Residents are asked to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued. On Wednesday afternoon, the NWS upgraded the flood prediction and changed the Flood Watch; to a Flash Flood Warning for Sullivan County and north central Knox County, northern Daviess County until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
