The Linton Police Department responded to 15 calls and incidents on Wednesday, August 19, including one assist to another agency, six assists to the public, one civil dispute, one theft, five traffic stops and one transport.

August 19 -- Nicholas Scott McElwee, 36, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of stalking and invasion of privacy. His bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent allowed on stalking count but was being held without bond on the other count. Residents and businesses on the far east side of Linton will experience a power outage late tonight (Thursday) around midnight that's expected to last for a couple of hours, but could last as long as four hours.
