Eastern improves defense in second half to win 41-20

LITTLE CINCINNATI -- Eastern stepped up its defensive intensity in the second half Friday night to turn a tight game into 41-20 romp over visiting Mitchell. The 4-0 Thunderbirds led only 25-20 at halftime as they had trouble stopping a variety of Mitchell backs. SWITZ CITY -- White River Valley fell 5-4 in soccer Thursday night to visiting West Vigo. The Vikings led 2-1 at halftime and boosted the lead to 5-1 in the second half.
