It’s not every day a high school teacher who doubles as a part-time radio broadcaster has the opportunity to take a trip to London. But Linton-Stockton High School teacher Darren Clayton, who broadcasts high school games for WQTY, has done exactly that...

LITTLE CINCINNATI -- What a difference a little enthusiasm made. Eastern (8-2) thumped visiting Springs Valley (4-6) 41-7 Friday night in the opening game of the sectional. Head coach Joey Paridean said the Thunderbirds played with more enthusiasm than they have shown in some of their recent games, including last week’s 26-18 triumph over Tecumseh. He said the Thunderbird defenders were flying all over the field to make plays and the offense functioned well as it ground out 465 total yards...

The Linton-Stockton Miners demonstrated why they’re the prohibitive favorite to win Class A Sectional 48 in Friday’s first-round sectional game against the Tecumseh Braves at Roy Williams Field. The Miners dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball Friday night, outgaining Tecumseh 436-146 for the night and holding the Braves without a first down in the first 20 minutes of action...

Saturday, October 22 Lyons Legion Post 479 will have a fish fry with hush puppies, baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw. From 6-9 p.m. Open to the public Saturdays. Marco United Methodist Church is having a fund raiser for Jerry Brown to help him with medical expenses. The fund raiser will include chili soup, peanut butter/syrup sandwiches, dessert and drink starting at 4 p.m. for $6 for adults and children $3. Donations above cost will be greatly appreciated...
