Softball tournament to raise money for law enforcement, community

The Linton Fraternal Order of Police 105 will be holding a softball tournament Oct. 28, 2017, 8 a.m. at the order’s location on Park Road near the conservation club. Hannah Montgomery says that the all-day event will offer grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, plenty of softball to watch, volleyball and cornhole tournaments to enter, as well as music by Kyle Chambers and a costume contest. Mystery Machine and Scooby-Doo will appear at Frightmares in Linton for charity

REMC Board votes to discontinue lifetime insurance benefit, discusses accrued legal fees

By an almost-unanimous vote, the UDWI REMC Board of Directors voted to discontinue the lifetime insurance benefit traditionally available to board members. The one dissenting vote on the board was by Bill Watkins. In other news, the board discussed cost-cutting measures for the UDWI Annual Meeting.
