Linton-Stockton school board gives thanks for school supply support

In a regular board meeting held Aug. 17 at 7 p.m., the Linton-Stockton school board expressed their gratitude in the support the school received from the community during the $15,000 in 15 days campaign. The school exceeded the $15,000 goal by almost $10,000, receiving donations starting at $27, including a $500 donation by the Linton-Stockton PTO, a $1000 donation from Linton Lodge 866, a donation of $7,710 from Linton United Methodist Church, $3,049.20 from Saron Church, and the contributions of many others.. ...

The Wolverines won the Marksmen Kickoff Classic by beating Tell City 6-3 Saturday. Bloomfield man fears for family's safety; police cite lack of evidence

“We haven’t slept over two hours at a time for the past few days”, said Bloomfield resident Jeff Gentry, “I really don’t know what to do.” Jeff and his wife Ashly live on Iron Mountain Road with their three children ages 2, 12 and 13. According to Gentry, the family’s troubles began earlier this year, on May 27 when their two boys ran out of their bedroom, screaming. Clay City police searching for suspect in possible attempted kidnapping of minor

Clay City police are looking for information on a possible attempted kidnapping. The victim, an underage girl, reported the incident Monday afternoon, telling officers a man stopped in front of her house, threw her in the trunk of his car, and drove away. The victim said she was able to escape the trunk using the hatch pull. She also said the perpetrator was wearing a bandana and has green or blue eyes. She reported seeing a Chevy emblem on the trunk of the vehicle...
