Langer appreciates community support
To the Editor:
Thank you community:
Do we live in a great community or what? We have experienced so many natural disasters over the past few months but through it all we have prevailed. I want to take this moment to thank all the people who have assisted us in the recovery process.
There are so many individuals who have stepped up to assist the latest need; our flood families. They have been able to have a dry place to sleep, beds to sleep on, food to eat, clothes to wear, and games for the children to play because so many people gave them. To name a few -- Bloomfield State Bank, MainSource Bank, Byers Furniture, REMC employees, Hamilton Center employees, Healthy Families employees, Mineral United Methodist Church, Bloomfield Christian Church, Cincinnati Christian Church, Greene County Foundation, Harvest Community Church, Hazel Dell Church of God, Linton Christian Church, a township trustee, and numerous individuals.
They may have lost many things but they have gained a love and respect for you and our community that will last a lifetime. On their behalf, thank you.
I, too, have deepened my respect for you and our community, when FLC experienced a fire a couple weeks ago. So many folks stopped by to see if we were seriously damaged then offered a word of encouragement. It was nice to hear how much a part of the community FLC has become.
Even the children view FLC as part of their lives. A few weeks ago the Bloomfield sixth-grade class wanted to assist us in beautifying our back block and parking lots. They devoted an entire day to painting walls, rails, parking blocks. They also planted flowers at the end of a very long day. Again, the community donated the materials and food for the event. If you get a chance please stop by to see their handy work. Maybe another mural will be painted to enhance a project that they started.
Last but not least, I want to say thank you to Rogers Group for donating a building to FLC. This building has allowed us to expand the ministry. The expansion project is dedicated to sharing furniture, household items, and appliances to those in need of these items. It continues to be a part of the ministry that we enjoy the most, sharing with others what has been given to us.
After all isn't that what God our Father did, He gave His Son.
It is that principle of sharing and loving others that make this community the best ever.
Thank you for sharing yourselves with us.
