You can 'Quit 2 Win'

To the Editor:

For the second straight year in a row, the Greene County Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition is partnering with state health officials to sponsor the statewide stop smoking contest known as "Quit 2 Win."

The contest will offer cash prizes totaling $5,000, including a top prize of $2,500, second place prize of $1,500, and third place prize of $1,000. To enter the contest, you must be at least 18 years of age and pledge to stop using tobacco between Sept. 15, 2008 and Oct. 15, 2008. All "Quit 2 Win" entries must be received by Sept. 1.

A winner will be drawn at random by state officials and tested to make sure they are tobacco-free.

To enter online, simply visit the INShape Indiana Website at www.inshape.IN.gov and click on the "Quit 2 Win" icon. To sign up locally, stop in at any of the following locations, complete the entry form and drop into the drop boxes: Greene County Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Office: 31 W. Main St., Bloomfield; Family Life Center: 19 S. Washington St., Bloomfield; Lyons Value Mart: 190 W. Broad St., Lyons; Vest Quik Mart Subway: 820 S. Commercial St., Worthington; Angell's Food Center: 1600 A St. NE, Linton,

Do you want help in quitting? Names are being accepted for the next cessation class, with plans for it to begin in September. Call 384-8769 if you want to pre-register.
