Man asks Ellsworth to vote no on proposed plan

To the Editor:

Honorable Congressman Ellsworth: I live in Greene County, Indiana. I have voted in every election since the days of Dwight Eisenhower's presidency. I am strictly a pro-life Christian.

My concern is that the much-debated healthcare legislation, if passed, will not benefit me or any of the folks you represent in Congress. I urge you to vote no on this bill.

Yesterday Speaker Pelosi was quoted on the evening news as having said that the bill should be passed and then we can find out what is in it! I know you are too intelligent to subscribe to this method of making such important decisions for America.

Thank you for your kind consideration.

Democrats need to rally before it's too late

To the Editor:

Hey wait a minute, just hold on a second. There seems to be a misunderstanding. This is not what I voted for. I voted a straight Democrat ticket. I didn't vote for Obama, I voted party. I put my trust in the party, not the man.

I now realize that he's trying to do the things he spoke of in his campaign. I wasn't listening, I trusted that the party wouldn't let us down. What happened?

What's going on now is embarrassing to me and I know some Democrats that are uncomfortable too. We are Democrats, not socialists, communists, not progressives. Democrats believe in maintaining a strong free America. We do not believe in selling out to the "global people." A strong America, both militarily and economically, has been in the past, the stabilizing force in the world.

There are people in the world that hate freedom. They're trying hard to destroy ours. When America falls, freedom is stamped out, maybe forever. People worldwide know this fact.

Surrendering our freedom to those people is certainly not what I voted for. So now, I call on my Democratic friends to take our party back, kick out the usurpers that scheme to rob us of our freedom. Plan to vote for America next election. Do the research, find out what the candidate says and what he means before you vote for him. As we found out, the party does not always run the best man for the office.

Let's take America back and restore it to its rightful place in the world.

Thanks for listening.
