GCGH Auxiliary learns about hospital foundation

Thursday, January 10, 2019

The Greene County General Hospital Auxiliary met on Jan. 7 in the hospital conference room with 15 members present. The meeting was called to order by President Dorothy Soliday. President Dorothy read the opening prayer for the auxiliary year and all members recited the Lord’s Prayer in unison.

The minutes and treasurer’s reports of the last three meetings were read and approved.

Our program was given by Kyle Cross, director of the GCGH Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to support and improve the hospital as well as to educate. The foundation has several programs such as the Sweet Baby Bundles, which provides education and incentives to try and bring the infant mortality rate down. They also provide tobacco cessation classes and fund needed equipment for the hospital.

They have a Project Give for the hospital employees and also sponsor an annual motorcycle ride to fund 3-D mammography for those in need.

Our next meeting will be Feb. 4 with speaker Linda Bray from Christian Women’s Ministries.

A motion was made by Sharon Reece and seconded by Jeanne Cullison to adjourn.

At the close of the meeting scrumptious refreshments of crackers, cheese and fruit were provided by our hostesses Carol Allen and Betty Brewer.
