FREE ACCESS: 911 emergency phone system back up

AT&T has advised the system is back up and running.

According to a release issued by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD), the department was advised by AT&T that an outage, affecting a large area of Indiana, has caused the 911 emergency phone system to go down. The outage is expected to last two to three hours.

Anyone needing emergency services or assistance for Greene County will need to call the administration line at (812) 384-4411 Option 1.

GCSD says they will issue an update when the system is back up.
