October 29
• Free Frightening Fun at the Shawnee Theatre at 616 E Furnace Road in Bloomfield from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m..
6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - Trunk or Treat. Treat cars are to be in place by 6 p.m..
7:45 - 9:30 p.m. - Ghostbusters with the original 1984 cast shown on the Shawnee big screen. Meet the Kool Kids Sleuths after the movie. They will be conducting a private paranormal investigation at the Shawnee after hours. This event is sponsored by Owen County State Bank. Free refreshments and treat bags included.
• The Worthington Halloween Bash will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on N Washington St. with trunk or treat, kid’s activities and a costume contest. Entry is free. A Halloween dance will take place at 206 E Main St. from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Cost is $2 per person. The Witches Ride will begin at 6 p.m. at WRV Elementary and end at N Washington St.. This event is open to all ages, entry fee is $10.
• Mt. Zion’s Annual Fall Festival will feature a hog roast, trunk-or-treat, games, pumpkin decorating contest and a hay ride from 5-9 p.m.. Event will be held at 2821 N. SR 157 in Bloomfield.
• Cincinnati Chirstian Church in Eastern Greene County will host “Trick or Treat Neighborhood” from 6-8 p.m.. All kids are welcome to attend. There will be music, food and candy.
October 30
• The Worthington Halloween Bash Concert in the Park will begin at noon with the opening act. The Greene County Community Band will perform from 1:30 - 2:15 p.m., Michael Norris from 2:15 to 3 p.m., Piney Woods and the Strip Mall from 3 to 5 p.m. and Wonder Band will close the show.
• Shakamak Good Samaritan Society will host Trunk-or-Treat from 6-8 p.m. at 800 E. Ohio St. in Jasonville.
• Dugger Lions Club will hold Trunk-or-Treat from 4-6 p.m.. All are welcome to participate.
October 31
• Spookfest will take place in downtown Linton.
5 - 8 p.m. – The Band Booster Fish Fry will be held at Meek Financial at 1st and Vincennes.
5:15 - 6 p.m. – Registration for the Halloween parade will be in front of Linton-Stockton High School.
6 p.m. – The parade will start at the high school and will arrive at the Carnegie Heritage and Arts Center at 6:30 p.m.. Participants are welcome to walk, ride a bike, a golf cart or an ATV.
6:30 p.m. – The costume contest will begin directly after the parade. All participants will line up in front of the Carnegie. First and second place prizes will be awarded in the following categories: baby to two years old, three to five years, six to 12 years, 13 years to adult, group, most original and best in parade.
• The Bloomfield Band Halloween Costume Contest and Parade will begin at 6 p.m.. The band will have walking tacos for sale and there will be pumpkin painting, a corn hole tournament, karaoke and face painting.
