Miles Oral Skinner

Miles Oral Skinner, 98, of Bloomfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon.

Born March 23, 1924 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Harvey Roscoe and Caroline (Hash) Skinner.

He was a United States Navy veteran who served his country in World War II. He worked for the Farm Bureau Co-op, Westinghouse and NSWC Crane. He was a member of the Sharkey Church and attended Mineral United Methodist Church.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Nick Skinner (Janet) of Bloomfield, Ned Skinner of Bedford and Ken Skinner (Debbie) of Bloomfield; one brother, Vernon Skinner of Marion; his grandchildren, Nikki Scheerer, Brentt Skinner, Jessica Anderson, Jarrod Skinner, Shandi Sheetz, Nathan Skinner, Sydnee Joe Skinner, Jaysce Skinner, Shane Skinner, Amber Groomer, Shawna Swanson, Gavin Skinner, Kourtney Solliday and Khristen Solliday; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenora Ellen Skinner on March 31, 2008; eight brothers, Delmar, Glen, Wilbur, William, Meryl, Max, Marion and George; two sisters, Geneva Clark and Wilma Owens; two daughter-in-laws, Janie Skinner and Sanfra Key; his granddaughter, Kristen Laue; and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to Ketcham Memorial Center or Walnut Grove Cemetery.
