Greene County Emergency Management Agency Director Roger Axe warned county residents Wednesday to be aware of possible storm conditions rolling in late Thursday or Friday.

The weather warning results from a storm system coming in from the southwest, bringing cold temperatures which, combined with warm air blowing north from the Gulf of Mexico, combine to create perfect tornado weather in the Texas and Oklahoma area, as well as Arkansas and Tennessee as the system moves eastward.

The outskirts of this weather system will bring possible high winds and rainfall to our area, Axe said.

“The barometric pressure has been going down,” Axe said. “Keep watching the weather, Thursday night or Friday could be rough.”

Axe provided the following link to a video by weather analyst and storm chaser Ryan Hall, who posts regular forecasts to his youtube channel.
