Sheryll Lynn Field

Sheryll Lynn Field, 88, of Connersville, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, April 2, 2023 at her home.

She was born April 17, 1934 in Clay City, one of five children of George E. and Irma S. White Shields. She was a graduate of Clay City High School.

In 1955, she was married in Hymera to James H. Field of Coalmont, and they moved in 1956 to Connersville for residence. They lived in Connersville their entire married life, raising four children there. Mr. Field passed away February 12, 2017.

For over eight years, she was employed at IGA of Connersville.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Sheryll was a devoted homemaker and loved to read her Bible.

Survivors include four children, James David Field of Connersville, Cynthia Lynn (Ed) Bowen of Chapel Hill, NC, Robert Eugene Field of Connersville, and Rebecca Sue (Randy) Guire of Connersville; four grandchildren, Charles, Benjamin, Emily and Samuel Field; two brothers, Lewis Shields of Clay City and Harry “Butch” Shields of Vigo County; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Other than her parents, Sheryll was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Field; two sisters, Phyllis Campbell and Roberta Carlson; and a daughter-in-law, Delilah Field.

Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Friendly Grove Baptist Church, 10520 S. County Road 550 West in Lewis. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. with Reverend David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sanders Cemetery in Lewis. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
