Lori D’Lee Cornelius, 54 of Dugger, went to her eternal home June 9, 2023 at Greene County Hospital in Linton.

She leaves her dad and mom, Larry and Penny Cornelius of Dugger; one brother, Robert Cornelius (Mandy) of Dugger; a niece, Savannah Moore; a nephew, Drevon Cornelius; and several aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family.

She was a member of Bethel Community Church, where she also was a children’s church teacher. She graduated from Union High School in 1985, then went on to V.U. and received an early childhood development degree. Lori opened and ran Minor Achievement Day Care and Preschool.

Lori loved her dog Madi, who preceded her in death. She loved all arts and crafts before losing her sight. She resided with her parents until a year ago, then she became a resident at Glenburn Home in Linton. She loved Glenburn and all who cared for her on Friendly Grove Hall. She loved the many activities they provided.

The last thing she would want to teach is to believe in what is promised. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ, she now can see and has a new body. She would say ‘don’t cry for me, be happy, for I am now released from this body that no longer works.’

A graveside service will be held at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger at 11 a.m. on June 13, 2023 with Pastor Randy Tucker officiating. Funeral services were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home in Dugger.
