Vera L. Jackson

Vera L. Jackson, 101, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born August 2, 1921 in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Porter) Lester.

Vera was a homemaker. She also worked for International Machine Tool Company and Greene County Abstract for 26 years before she retired. She was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church, Bloomfield American Legion Auxiliary, Psi Iota Xi and the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving relatives include one daughter, Mary Ellen Misiaszek (Stanley) of Ocala, Fla.; her grandchildren, Michael Misiaszek, Bradley Misiaszek, Nita Botkin and Brian Jackson; great-grandchildren, Ryan Botkin and Arin Pruett; great-great-granddaughters, Madilyn Botkin-Whitfield and Kaylin Botkin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude W. Jackson on April 14, 1983; one daughter, Bonita Weaver; one son, William D. Jackson; three sisters, Hazel Fuller, Helen Sutten and Rosemary Workman; infant twin sisters; one brother, Donald Lester; an infant brother; one grandson, William Dean Yutzy and her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Scott Chastain officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home
