Jackie L. Hobbs

Jackie L. Hobbs, 84, of Watchung, N.J,, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, N.J.. He was born on October 5, 1938 in Muncie, to Urvel D. ‘Dimp’ and Alta Mae (McKain) Hobbs. Jackie married the love of his life, Sharon K. (Tuttle) Hobbs on May 30, 1977.

Jackie retired from Pfizer in 2006 with 48 years of service. He was a vice president in corporate quality assurance.

Family left to cherish the memory of Jackie include his wife, Sharon Hobbs of N.J.; one son, Steve (Jana) Hobbs of Sullivan; one daughter, Shasi Hobbs of N.J.; four grandchildren, Jay Hobbs, Jacki Lewis, Josh Hobbs and Jamie Graf; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike (Pam) Hobbs of Pisgah Forest, N.C. and Denny (Linda) Hobbs of Menasha, Wisc.; two sisters, Phyllis Burt of Danville and Brenda Cox of Warsaw; one sister-in-law, Lisa Tuttle Brewer.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eric Hobbs; one brother, David Hobbs; two brothers-in-law, Howard Burt and Dan Cox.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton, with Pastor David Tyra officiating. Jackie will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
