Esther Frances Murphy, 66, of Bloomfield passed away Friday August 18, 2023 at her residence.

Born September 13, 1956 in Linton, the daughter of James R. “Bob” Stone and Anna L. (Lucas) Stone.

Esther worked as a budget analyst for the Army, she was the current president of the Ladies Auxiliary Crane VFW Post 9297, past president of the 7th district and current treasurer.

Surviving relatives include her stepdaughters, Amanda (Rob) Workman and Katie (Jim) Holderfield; one brother, David (Joy) Stone; one sister, Linda Trout; her nieces, Kamey Ridgeway, Lindsey (Doug) Everett, Jessica (Bill Quiller) Bruner and Jodi Trout; step-grandchildren, Darian Workman, Lance Workman, Lilah Holderfield, Willa Holderfield and Nora Holderfield; three great-nieces, Amelia Bruner, Daisy McRoberts and McKenzie Everett; one great-nephew, Jacob Everett; one great-great-niece, Ivory McRoberts; several cousins and extended family.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. “Rick” Murphy and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 22, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Ladies VFW service and sharing of memories.

The family wishes any memorial donations be made in Esther’s name to the Scotland Historical Society, Scotland Cemetery, Taylor Township Fire Department or the Crane VFW.
