Eva Lucille Carrico, 98, of Bicknell, passed from this life on Monday, September 18, 2023, at The Villages at Oakridge in Washington. She was born on February 17, 1925, in Bicknell to Almon and Nellie (Long) Burress. Lucille married the love of her life, Lester A. Carrico, on May 20, 1945.

Lucille was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 520 in Washington and the Eastern Star. She retired after several years of service at JCPenney.

Family left to cherish the memories of Lucille include one son, Bud (Connie) Carrico of Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Kristina (Phil) Sheridan of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tracy Crawley and Dawn Foster; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Sedam and Anthony Hall and Charles (Nina) Burress of Bicknell.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester A. Carrico; brothers, Robert and Bill Burress; one infant granddaughter and an infant sibling.

Funeral services to honor the life of Lucille will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Bryan Sanders officiating. Lucille will be laid to rest in Edwardsport IOOF Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital in Chicago, Ill.. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
