James Willard Thacker

James Willard Thacker, 86, of Linton, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born November 19, 1936 in Sutton, Ky., he was the son of Willard and Irma (Smith) Thacker.

James was an electrician for the IBEW Local 725 and attended Switz City Full Gospel Church.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Kathy (Griffith) Thacker, whom he married on May 8, 1965; his children, Sheryl (Brian) Yake, Kimberly (Paul) Clapp and James Ryan (Missi) Thacker; one brother-in-law, Herschel (Linda) Griffith; his grandchildren, Heather, Josh, Kelsey, Wyatt, Travis, Dustin, James Cody, Gabriel, Cage, Lindsie, Caleb, MacKinzie, Josie, Blaine and Ryley; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Michael Thacker; one sister, Janice Sue Lahmann and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Lyons, with Rev. Sam Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery in rural Lyons.

Public visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
